DataQ Challenge Assistant Helps Carriers Fix Incorrect Safety Records

An incorrect crash, violation, or inspection on your FMCSA record doesn't just sit there — it actively costs you money. Brokers see inflated BASICs scores and pass you over for loads. Insurance underwriters see adverse data and raise your premiums. And most carriers don't know they can challenge these records through FMCSA's DataQs system.

Guardian Visibility's DataQ Challenge Assistant changes that. The system analyzes your FMCSA safety profile, identifies records that may be eligible for challenge, checks your documentation completeness, and provides structured submission templates.

The process starts with a scan. Our system pulls your inspection, violation, and crash records from FMCSA and evaluates each one against known challengeable criteria. Preventable crash determinations, incorrect vehicle type classifications, violations with procedural errors, and inspections with data entry mistakes are all flagged for review.

Each challengeable item receives a completeness score based on the type of record, the specific grounds for challenge, and the documentation you have available. The FMCSA's Crash Preventability Determination Program (CPDP) recognizes 21 qualifying crash types where carriers can request a not-preventable determination.

For Review Data Requests (RDRs) — the more complex challenge type — our system provides structured submission templates with proper CFR citations and supporting documentation checklists. Instead of staring at a blank FMCSA form, carriers get a structured template that addresses the specific regulatory basis for the challenge.

The DataQ Assistant is included with every registered GV Scan account at no additional cost. This tool assists in preparing DataQs submissions — it does not provide legal advice, and carriers are responsible for the content and accuracy of their submissions.
